For the last eight years, the golden Tippspiel trophy has been hanging out at windowsill in southern Bavaria — and that’s where it will stay for a while.
After a very close run prediction battle between Karin, Hanns-Peter and Gunther (“the Keuperweg Three”), it was the bonus questions that catapulted Karin to Tippspiel glory. She correctly predicted Spain as World cup winner, Kylian Mbappe’s golden boot, and got closest to the total goals scored (along with Basti). Congratulations Karin!
With Karin’s win, we have a new entry into the Tippspiel annals. Here is the list of previous champions:

We can only assume that the Tippspiel result will lead to some discussions around true football knowledge in the Künze household, as Johanna and Basti come in second and third, also on the back of the bonus questions (Norway, especially).
Despite a strong showing throughout the tournament, yours truly comes in on fourth, ultimately hurt by my doomed trust in England and Harry Kane.
There are just a few points between Gunther, SupiMichi and Gremily, followed by the Seattle contingent.
MagisterBarney produced a far from magisterial performance, while James stayed committed to his underdog strategy to the bitter end.

I still can‘t believe I actually won the trophy 🏆and it stays on our windowsill another four years! Huge thanks to Hanns-Peter for organizing this Tippspiel. We had a lot of fun and plenty of discussions about late goals that cost Supimichi so many valuable points 😥
The victory celebration 🎉 is officially held in our garden in Gauting this August. Everyone is welcome … except for the two above mentioned gentlemen.
